When taking photos of popular places while traveling, it is hard not to get other tourists in your photos. Although we always try to take pictures in a way that avoids the crowds, sometimes there just isn’t a way to keep people out of them. Even worse, when you have a camera in your hand, some people seem to stare right at you, so you end up with photos with someone looking like they are glaring at you. Instead of capturing a candid moment of the place you are visiting, you end up with a photo that seems somehow awkward. As we looked through our pictures for this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge, A Face in the Crowd, we started to wonder how many times we might show up in someone else’s photo album. We can imagine them looking back at the pictures from their favorite vacation and wondering to themselves, who are these people who shared the same moment in time with them. Do you ever imagine who the strangers might be that are in your photographs, perhaps even guessing where they are from, what they do, or if they are a spy for some foreign entity? Maybe you have a photo of someone who became famous after you captured their image and you don’t even know it.
Haha, love it. Reminds me of our time in Southend, England. Imagine a summer resort in early spring – empty. We took the pier train, which is quite slow and the pier quite long. I was trying to get the perfect pic of the sunset, so pressed the button in the same sec when the only pedestrian walking along the line looked at us. His face was, of course, where my perfect sun was supposed to be :))))
Some people can become aggressive too
Great post. Guess we all know a story about that topic. I found Charles Bridge in Prague especially difficult. Most times, I just snap away and tell myself in a soothing voice that I can still crop and edit later 🙂
We were in Prague during the winter and it was very crowded on the bridge. We can imagine other times of year. We do the same thing, keep clicking away 🙂

hahahha!! A lot of tourists come to my university and take heaps of photos. I usually try to get out of their photos but one time I was eating my lunch next to a nice pond and they were taking photos of it!!! It’s fair to say that there are photos out there somewhere of me shovelling lasagne in my face next to a nice pond at uni haahaha

This was a fun thought, but I won’t tell Alie who doesn’t like to have her picture taken and is not as likely to be amused at her image out there.
I like to photograph people. I will ask permission if I plan to use the photo in a painting, but then they invariably become “stiff” and posed, so I like to get a few candid shots as well if I can.
